Here at last, are two group photos I took on the last night at Trasher’s Cove on the West Coast Trail back in early August.
The size on those two photos are pretty small, so if anyone actually wants the original RAW format images, just let me know.
After seven days of hiking Dave and I completed the West Coast Trail. We departed Pachena Bay on Wednesday August 8th and emerged from the bush yesterday, Tuesday August 14th. The trail was: “super” (Dave’s quote, not mine).
For the next few days I’m in Tofino, doing some Canadian cold water surfing. The waves here thus far have been “ankle biters” (quote from some local kid we met at the hostel) but there is a tropical storm coming in from Hawaii hitting Tofino some time this Saturday/Sunday. The storm should bring in something between ten to twenty foot waves (potentially un-surfable for my skill level which is pretty green), but we’ll see….
For those folks Dave and I met on the WCT who are looking for those high-rez group pictures I took out a Thrasher Cove, I’ll be putting those shoots online some time next week, once I’m back in Calgary. Till then: “Safe travels.” (Jordan’s quote.)
PS: Tofino has YOGA: Anahata Yoga! I’ll be checking out the “foundational vinyasa flow” class tomorrow morning.
Here’s some information on a hike from Galatea Creek to Lillian Lake, out in Kananaskis Country that I’m thinking about doing in a few weeks time. These scanned in images came from Kananaskis Country Trail Guide, Second Ed. by Gillean Daffern circa 1985 (a new edition is in the works).
Spent this last weekend I spend three days in Yoho National Park, up at the ACC Elizabeth Parker hut by Lake O’Hara. Here are some choice photographs from an absolutely beautiful snowshoeing trip:
