Wednesday I…
- Felt like crap.
- Worked with Amanda on Art-Science visualization.
- Met with Sheelagh for the first time in a while it seemed.
- Read about Wavelets in my new library book. Hurray for accessible math!!
- Politics….
Today I…
- Went to yoga.
- Worked with Amanda on our Art-Science visualization. Came up with a few solid ideas, so now all I have to do is implement them. Right.
- Read through some docs on Objective-C and Quartz 2D.
- Looked through the only cook book you’ll ever need.
- Through about platform issues for the radio astronomy viz project. Lab says Windows, fast hardware says Mac, people who might actually use it says Linux (and Mac too).
- Cleaned up my bookmarks. Google Browser Sync is rad.
- Stayed up too late.

Today I:
- Finished CPSC 699. For this semester anyway.
- Ordered a USB switch. No more two keyboards and mice.
- Cleaned my desk.
- Went to the Alberta Ingenuity Scholarship Info Session… Tell me something I don’t ALREADY know.
- Went to ACAD for EVDS supplies.
- Back in EVDS… I made a mold of my hand and forearm out of Alginate. Right now, it looks like a disaster.
- Filled the Alginate mold with plaster of paris, only to discover that the mold was far from water tight and all the plaster spilt out the bottom. So I constructed a mold to hold the mold and filled that will copious amounts of plaster. The mold of a mold is now drying for the night in the EVDS shop, only to be chiseled tomorrow morning. It’s going to be awesome.
- Had a drink from the Gentlemen’s Closet (which is “filled with leather bound books and smells of rich mahogany”).
- Thought of secret santa ideas…

Today I…
- Wrote my first ilab-today message all week.
- Decided not to design and build more phidgets. Instead, an small order for a bunch of PowerMate USB controllers has been placed.
- This past weekend proved that: Collaboration is VERY TIME CONSUMING, with a seemingly awful Time to Productivity ratio.
- Uro uro suru is Japanese for walking aimlessly around. Or so I’m told.
- Started using Xcode.
- Spend the afternoon and part of the evening in the EVDS studio.
- Thought about whether or not ethics approval will be needed….
Links I thought were interesting:
- ByteController, control iTunes from the menu bar. For Mac and Windows.

Today I:
- Forgot my tuque on the train. The suck. But. I got it back.
- Met with Amanda to talk about our EyesWeb assignment. Interesting discussion about performance art and ethics, a full audio recording of the discussion was captured.
- According to threadless, I can usually have the “hobo” style facial hair.
- Went to Jamal Siadat’s seminar on “An Evaluation of Simultaneous Evolvability and Efficiency In Aspect-Oriented”, followed by Lakin Wecker’s talk on “Repairing Terrain: A multiresolution approach”.
- Found a seemingly fantastic paper by Fluke et al. on the “Future directions in astronomy visualization”. Too bad the U of C library doesn’t carry any current publications from the Astronomical Society of Australia, so a interlibrary loan has been requested.
- Tried to get a copy of SONIC.
- Wrote up my seminar summaries. Three left to go!
